Dr. Justin Adams, Assistant Professor, Joined the faculty at the University of Arkansas in the fall of 2018 as an assistant professor in the Counselor Education Program. Dr. Adams received his PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision from The University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC and Master’s in clinical Mental Health from Winthrop University in Rock Hill, SC. Dr. Adams is a nationally certified counselor and has experience working in clinical and school settings. His research interest includes: recruitment and retention of minority students in counselor education, cross-cultural mentorship, Critical Race Theory, misdiagnosis of minority students in K-12 settings, and college counseling. Dr. Adams is a member of several professional organizations including the American Counseling Association, Association for Counselor Education and Supervision, Association for Research and Assessment in Counseling, and Association for Multicultural Counseling and Development.
